GlamCam Photo Booths All Over The Durban July

The Durban July is an annual event held in Greyville, KwaZulu Natal and it attracts hoards of spectators from all over the country, even the world. We were extremely grateful to be selected to capture elements of the event with our photo booth setups by four separate clients:

  • TKZN
  • Global Events
  • EMS Global
  • Sophla Events

Each client had a GlamCam Photo Pod setup with on-site printing facilities. Some of them also requested sharing functionality with each photo, and others simply wanted the magic of guests being able to have their photos taken at the events.

Before we continue, let us say that the end result for each client was absolute success, but it didn’t come without a few challenges. Our teams handled these with extreme professionalism, which resulted in hundreds of amazing photographs being shot, many happy guests and – most importantly – completely delighted clients.

Let’s go into the specifics of each client and how our rockstar teams handled the pressure without even breaking a sweat! Okay, that’s a lie… there was some panic and some sweating! Just a little bit.

TKZN

Challenges

With an event as grand as the Durban July, there are no shortage of challenges that meet you up close and personal. Difficulties gaining access and the need to improvise come to mind, but our hotshot teams took it all in their stride and still blew audiences away with their magnetic presence.

Scene

The people were great, which always makes our jobs so much easier. The guests had so much fun taking photos with the photo booth, and even wanted us to take pictures with the team. It was quiet at first, but without hesitating our people got out there and walked around asking people to come have their photos taken. Once the flow started it was non-stop.

Number Of Guests

Maybe 200 at this marquee.

Number Of Photos Taken

Between 300 and 400 photographs were shot at the end of the day.

Global Events

Challenges

One can always expect a little bit of uphill walking when setting up for an event, and this team also faced a bit of turmoil getting everything absolutely perfect! Poor lighting in the venue played a role, but in true GlamCam style – the team managed to make it work brilliantly.

Scene

It was relatively busy all the time. Once the team started working, people were drawn in and loved the GlamCam… especially when they received their print outs.

Number Of Guests

Full marquee and buzzing all the time.

Number Of Photos Taken

Over 300 photographs were shot at the photo booth at this marquee.

EMS Global

Challenges

Sometimes challenges are the true test of your abilities, and working under pressure you really get a taste of your problem solving abilities. This is what our team at the EMS Global marquee had to face up to, and face it they did to get things rolling full steam ahead!

Scene

The scene had a great vibe and was really upbeat and was more formal than the other venues or marquees.

Number Of Guests

A lot!

Number Of Photos Taken

Around 350 photographs were taken with our photo booth.

Sophla Events

Challenges

Again, when you consider an event of such size, it’s obvious that accreditation needs to be 100% on point. While it delayed our crews getting in, they made up for it by setting up and cracking on in record time.

Scene

The event was full so they were busy most of the time. At first, the team had to go and ask people to come have their photos taken, but after the first few times people started to follow the trend.

Number Of Guests

40-50 guests

Number Of Photos Taken

Over 100 photos

Never has there been a problem we can’t overcome as a team, and this is what makes our GlamCam activations a cut above the rest. We really have the most solid crews working with us, sharing our passion and capturing memories all over South Africa!

Work with our team at your next event or activation.
